How I got the old newsfeed back and got rid of unrelated Pages on Facebook.
Are you annoyed by the fact that Facebook Top Stories / See First posts are getting less and less interesting? Are you also annoyed by how Facebook hides a post as soon as you scroll through them and you never get to see them again unless you’ve saved/bookmarked them? If you’re anything like, you’re probably very annoyed by Facebook forcing their algorithms on you, one of them being their oh-so famous See First newsfeed. While it’s very fancy in letting you know what you might be interested in and show that at the top of your newsfeed, most of the times algorithms can’t curate content for you. Period.
Here’s what I discovered on Facebook for iOS (Version 184.0) very recently and would like to share with everyone interested:
- Go to More tab. (the little burger icon at the bottom most right corner)
- Look for Most Recent.
There you have it!
Few of the reasons why I just realized I loved the old newsfeed are:
- You can find posts that are no more very interesting for you so you can remove pages, groups and people as you scroll. (I have a feeling Facebook has purposely made it complex for people to figure this out for brands to not lose number of likes)
- You don’t lose that post you just saw a few moments ago.
- You can be the first to interact with a post; or find yet another way to know who’s online and made that post. 😏
- You know when you’ve reached the end of the feed when posts start to get repeated.
Happy scrolling!
